iHomefinder IDX - Building a Shortcode

It’s important to note that there are different options and instructions depending on whether your IDX is provided by iHomefinder or Easy Agent Pro. If you're unsure which your LeadSite uses, this article covers the immediately recognizable differences between the two:

Shortcode Builder Locations

The IDX Shortcode builder can be found in any app or page editor where IDX listings can be added, such as:

• Homepages (under Settings > IDX Listings):
  
  
  
• Instafarm (find the Extra Information + IDX shortcode box):
  
  
  
• Pages and Blog editor (click Add Block , then search for and select the [/] Shortcode block, then click Add Listings):
  
  
  
  

Building an IDX Shortcode 

1. Open the shortcode builder:
   
2. Under the Listings tab, click on the Listing Gallery dropdown menu and select one of the following options:
   
   • Featured Listings - results based on the MLS Agent ID provided with your IDX Registration form:
     
     Select your Property Type, then you have the option to select your preferred Sorting Order, choose a preferred number of Results Per Page, and select whether you want to Display a Header above your listings.
     
     
   • Listing Report - select a custom IDX Market that you've created in your IDX Control Panel:
     
     Select your Market (if you have not already created a custom IDX Market in your IDX Control Panel, this menu will have no options), then you have the option to select your preferred Sorting Order, and whether you want to Display a Header above your listings.
     
     
   • Search - create a property search of a specific location:
     
     Select a City and Property Type, then you have the option to filter results by the number of Bedrooms and/or Bathrooms, as well as Minimum and/or Maximum Price. You may also scroll down to select your preferred Sorting Order, choose a preferred number of Results Per Page, and select whether you want to Display a Header above your listings.
     
     Note: If Sort is left blank, the default sorting order will be by price descending (highest to lowest). If Results Per Page is left blank, the default is 12 results.
     
     
3. Under the Search tab, select ⦿ the search bar type you want to add to your page, then choose your display options:

4. After setting your desired parameters, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button (located at the bottom of the builder window, below the list of options):
   
   
   
5. Paste (<ctrl+V> on Windows, <⌘+V> on Mac) the copied shortcode into the desired text box.

View the page to see whether your shortcode is displaying correctly. If you need to make any changes, return to the page editor to build, copy, and paste a new shortcode.
